We are pleased to advise that the next Stories of Things will be held on April 13, 2023 at the beautifully restored Uchiyama Bookstore in Hongkou. Two veteran RAS members will delight us with their things and stories:

Marcia Johnson, through her scholarly research, has become fascinated with the Uchiyama Bookstore. She would like to share her enthusiasm with us. She is not bringing a "thing" per se, but rather she has brought us to the "thing": the bookstore itself!

RAS fiction book club convener, Dagmar Borchard, will bring a unique piece of Chinese paper craft and will explain the rich tradition and symbolism behind it.
