To coincide with the Duke Kunshan University Kun Opera Festival, members of the Royal Asiatic Society are invited to visit the spectacular campus of Duke Kunshan University, on Saturday May 10, 2025, from 2:00pm to 9:30pm.


The visit will include a welcome reception, three mini lectures of general interest, a catered dinner, and tickets to the Kun opera performance, with English subtitles. An optional shuttle will return to Kunshan South Station for those who wish to take the train back to Shanghai.


Transport to and from Kunshan is not included in the ticket price. Kunshan South Station is 18 minutes from Shanghai via high speed train. From there you may take a taxi (approximately 20 minutes) to Duke Kunshan University's South Gate. Visitors should arrive in time for the welcome reception which takes place from 2:00-2:30pm. Parking may be available via prior registration.

Access to the DKU campus requires us to collect your phone number and passport/identity information. You will be contacted via email 48 hours prior to the event and given a personal QR code to enable access. Note that this code cannot be transferred to another person.


We regret in advance that we cannot accommodate specific dietary requests other than a vegetarian meal.
