Due to Shanghai's current lockdown, RAS China Art Focus is unable to hold our regular in-person sessions in museums. Thus, we are extremely pleased to invite the renowned author and lecturer Nicholas Chrimes who will discuss the important role of the Fitzwilliam Museum of the University of Cambridge and introduce us to the major collections within the museum's holding.

About the lecture:

The Fitzwilliam Museum of the University of Cambridge emerged from an era of private collectors in England and belongs between the epoch of monasteries and the great public museums of 19th century London. Nicholas Chrimes will discuss the Place of the museum within England's history and the Space by revealing the hidden gems of the architecture and the museum's valuable collections of the historical works of art.
