Three Rooms and Two Halls (三室两厅) is Shanghai writer Han Bo's new novel centering on a circle of local artists and creatives. Focusing on the chapter "The Soft Hall," Han Bo, alongside his partner and translator Heidi Berg, will present these surrealistic explorations of modern relationships, work expectations, and family life, as well as their place in today's Chinese literary canon.

Han Bo
Writer and Painter
Han Bo is an award-winning writer, visual artist, and curator. A Fudan University alumnus and Honorary Fellow in Writing at the University of Iowa, he has received the Liu Li’an Poetry Award and the Asymptote Journal Translation Award. A former Editor-in-Chief of The Bund Weekly, his curatorial projects include collaborations with MoCA Shanghai, Goethe-Institut, Swissnex, and the 2022 Venice Biennale China Pavilion.
Heidi Berg
Translator and Partner
Heidi Berg serves as the Sustainability and ESG Director of the Confederation of Danish Industry in China. Alongside her executive work, she is a translator of Han Bo's works and a partner in his creative projects.
