As a follow up to the session on TCM, in this workshop we will introduce Ba Duan Jin八段锦, or eight brocades, one of the oldest Qigong exercises passed down from ancient China.

Ba Duan Jin focuses on the balance of breathing and body movements. The body-mind coordination brings internal harmony, while at the same time allows more oxygen and nutrients to reach the individual cells.

There is a total of eight movements, each set guided by a TCM meridian and connected organs, with benefits woven into each movement.

Ba Duan Jin was favoured by the ancients, due to its simple and elegant nature; compared to Tai Chi, these movements are relatively simple and can be practiced at any place or time and fit for people of all ages.

We will be led in this small journey into BaDuanJin by Sebastian Chrisandy and Chris Zhu, who will provide us both an understanding of how Qigong sustains long term health and will coach us to learn the movements for a healthy daily practice.
